This is the inspiring story of Noelle Marie, a little girl who loved Christmas with such passion, she was convinced this holiday belonged to her. During her short life, she taught her parents and her four siblings how to celebrate this special holiday with extra joy.

The inspirational story of Noelle Marie

Born ten days before Christmas, Micki placed her newborn child in a cradle in front of a holiday tree decorated with homemade ornaments and strings of popcorn. She dressed Noelle in a red and white Santa Claus jumpsuit for the occasion. That night Noelle resembled a tiny elf. She gazed up at the colored lights on the tree with unfocused eyes, wrinkled and funny-faced. Today, when remembering Christmases past, the memories of that night still wax sharp in Micki’s mind.

The name Noelle Marie actually translates to ‘Christmas Mary’, but Noelle insisted it meant ‘Merry Christmas’ and the song, ‘The First Noelle’ was written just for her. With each passing Christmas she also insisted they watch every Christmas television special as a family. Her frantic preparations generally drove them all to distraction! Noelle bonded with this holiday as if her name gave her an aura that ordinary mortals could not grasp.

The Girl Who Loved Christmas

Noelle was becoming a young woman by the Christmas of her 13th birthday. The awkwardness of puberty was pushing her headlong into the promise of beautiful womanhood. But, on ‘her holiday’ she retained the naivety of a child, bursting with love and eagerness. That is until the unthinkable happened and she was taken from this loving family.

Maybe she taught her family that love lives on, though life is fragile. They can not say for sure. They only know that the true spirit of Christmas was shown to them through the eyes of a lovely young girl named Noelle Marie.
