In each of Jan Hurst Nicholson’s three Tales2Inspire winners, she tells a different humorous story. Although none seemed funny at the time, she now looks back with laughter.
The Great Ant War is one of those humorous stories.
When her husband awoke at three a.m. with burning feet, he soon realized it was something more than gout. ANTS! His feet and legs were alive with the tiny black creatures. So was the bed. Sounds less like a humorous story than a movie produced by Alfred Hitchcock titled The Revenge of the Ants. Those ants arrived in droves. It appeared they were ready to take over her entire house. At first Jan began attacking them gently with eco friendly products. But once she saw that those ants just wouldn’t take the hint, her efforts became more vigorous. Minor skirmishes turned into outright war.
Yes, Jan finally rids her home of those nuisance invaders. She also turns a near calamity into a humorous story. Once again Jan looks back with laughter at another little life challenge.

Convinced that a wrongly pressed button can cause serious mischief, Jan stands anxiously over her computer, pondering the damage it might bestow. What would happen to those thousands of precious words she has pounded onto her keyboard if her PC decides to balk? Heavens, her yet-to-be-published bestseller might just disappear from the earth.
