INSPIRING STORY OF THE WEEK – 86 THE COLESLAW by Micki Peluso
INSPIRING STORY OF THE WEEK
86 THE COLESLAW
by Micki Peluso
Micki Peluso has a special touch when it comes to slice-of-life, humorous stories. And it’s quite a trick to write an inspiring story that is also funny! But Micki is such a talented writer that four of her stories ended up winners in our Tales2Inspire competition of Stories That Tickle the Funny Bone.
86 the Coleslaw is one of those stories, a story about the day she took over the running of her husband’s restaurant, The Chicken Coop, while he was out of town. Although he told her the restaurant practical runs itself, Micki’s quickly learned that that was not the case. Her experience was just the opposite. You know the expression, “Everything that could go wrong went wrong?” That in a nutshell defines Micki’s day.
Micki Peluso also won awards for three other Tales2Inspire humorous stories. In her story The Mean Machine, she makes us laugh at her inept mastery of electrical appliances. Convinced that none of this is her fault, she claims collective sabotage on women such as her. Or perhaps it’s just that all the mechanical lemons of the world end up in her home! Learn more.
In Relatives and Fish Micki shares her insight into Ben Franklin’s famous statement about relatives and fish. Remember how he said they all start to smell after three days? Well, as much as she looked forward to that visit from her grandsons and daughter . . . , oh well, you can guess the rest! Learn more.
In Tomatoes and Teenagers Micki gives us some laugh-out-loud moments. Just like tomatoes, those teenagers do finally ripen. Finally they too will mature, and if all goes well, will finally have teenagers of their own. Learn more.
86 the Coleslaw, The Mean Machine, Relatives and Fish and Tomatoes and Teenagers are now published in

it’s always a huge honor to win a place in Lois W.Stern’s large array of of inspiring books of stories–and now humor as well. She is a professional who demands the best in a most gentle, helpful way and is a delight to work with. I have yet to see a publisher work so hard and constant to help her writers and her books succeed.
Micki, you are just an awesome gal. I first got to know you when you entered my very first Tales2Inspire contest, admired your work, saw your talent and published your story, The Whippoorwill’s Song. Then along came our Tales2Inspire humor book and you showed me a whole different side to your personality. What a great sense of humor you have! Although we have never met in person, after working with you over the past several years, I am honored to call you “friend”.
Dear Lois, I just love the way you set this up.I found no errors and it really looks professional. I’d like to share it on my blog and social media if that’s okay. You really did an excellent job.
So glad you like the new format, Micki. Don McCauley has really helped me a lot. Now I check each blog posting 7 different ways, from Readability to SEO, image tags, categories . . . A lot goes on behind the scenes as well as what you see. By all means, link to it from your blog and share on your social media.I know I can always count on you Micki to go that extra mile!
