FINDING THE CURE

This is the inspiring, true story of Gavin Peck, a little boy living in his own world. His father struggles to save his son by dragging him back into the real world, only to find that he was the one who needed saving.

For the first two years of his life, Gavin’s parents thought he was a perfectly happy little boy, but strangely distant for a two year old. The doctors told them he was perfectly healthy, but something just didn’t seem right. When he still wasn’t speaking at the age of three, and was constantly trying to run away from home, they realized the doctors missed something. Little did they know at the time that this was just the beginning of their adventures with autism. For the first few years after his diagnosis, Jimmy struggled to cure Gavin’s autism.

Now here’s the most inspirational part of the story:

Ultimately Jimmy realized that he was the only one who needed changing. Gavin remained the same throughout it all. What Jimmy found in the end is that not only was autism responsible for giving him one of the funniest, happiest and most unique little boys he’d ever met, but it also made him twice the man he was before Gavin (and autism) changed him for the better. In the end, fear and uncertainty turned into strength, knowledge and a feeling of good fortune.
